  • Assist with the service of food to guests.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Education: College degree preferably specializing in hotel/restaurant management or equivalent experience is required.
  • Experience: One to two years previous experience in a supervisory or assistant manager position in Food & Beverage.

Purpose: Prepare cocktails, drinks, wines, and all alcoholic beverages in an efficient, accurate manner.

Prepare all drinks to Bay Pointe standards and specifications for the customers and clients, ensure that the proper materials and supplies are on hand, and connect with guests.  Ensure that minors and intoxicated persons are not served alcoholic beverages.  Act as the cashier for the servers when necessary.

Provide guests with the best possible service skills and charm, while maintaining a professional distance and attitude. Continually create emotional attachments with each guest encounter and guarantee welcoming environment.

Maintain the cleanliness of the bar area through disposing of all waste, clearing and cleaning all glassware, and wiping down bar and preparation areas throughout and at end of shift.

Alert management to product needs on a nightly basis, maintaining a comfortable level of supplies.

Banquet Supervisor

Purpose: To oversee the entirety of a banquet/”event” hosted by Bay Pointe Inn, from beginning to completion. The Banquet Supervisor is directly charged with working hands-on alongside banquet servers and bartenders, to ensure that all events are completed to Bay Pointe Inn’s high standards. The supervisor will work in conjunction with the Banquet Manager, Restaurant and Events Manager, Property General Manager, and the sales team members to facilitate the wishes of each guest hosting with us. 

The supervisor will also help wedding parties execute their ceremonies when they are performed at Bay Pointe Inn. A supervisor will always be on hand to assists brides and grooms, as well as the bridal party. 

Supervisors directly oversee the set-up of each event prior to its start time. In the case of a wedding, they will remain on property to assist the bridal party/family with any requests they may have between set-up and the ceremony. Event spaces and tables must be set according to the diagrams delivered from the sales associate who booked the party. Supervisors will lead the staff in the coordination of all set-up. 

During the event itself, they will help manage the event’s timeline and ensure that the staff is maintaining a high level of service. At the conclusion of the event, they will assist in clean-up; directing  the staff in the storage of items used, and any preparation for a future function in the same, or other spaces. Prior to dismissing staff, a supervisor will meet with the Restaurant and Events Manager, or other executive team member on site, to recap the event and have duties checked. Strong communication skills and leadership are paramount for this roll. The supervisor must be able to lead by example, and motivate the banquet staff.

This position requires the individual to assist the Sales Department of Bay Pointe Inn in all group event sales as described below. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Catering Sales Managers on all booked events by obtaining and inputting Event Details
  • This person will be responsible for typing up the Banquet Event Order (BEO) to communicate client’s vision to the rest of Bay Pointe Inn staff. This will require additional event thinking and language with experience to ensure BEO is complete with all necessary information. At times this may require meetings with the client.
  • Assist with contracts and proposals as needed.
  • Create event diagrams for clients.
  • Manage and coordinate rentals with necessary vendors for all events.
  • Manage all event invoices and collect/process payments as specified in contracts.
  • Prepare all BEO packets each week and meet weekly with Management Team at BEO meetings
  • Manage inquiry reports and any other reports/tasks as assigned.
  • Assist with taking phone calls for new prospective clients.
  • Must be able to quote dates/spaces properly and professionally and give menu information as needed as stated on all planned menus.

SUMMARY

This position will provide the highest quality of service to our guests.

Job duties include, but are not limited to: Serve food & beverage orders in a friendly, professional, and timely manner. Take food and beverage orders using suggestive selling techniques. Have complete knowledge of all menu items, prices, preparation method/time, ingredients and quality standards of taste, appearance, serving temperature, portion size, garnish and method of presentation.  Clear tables during service. Control guest checks and secure proper payment. Ensure station and table set-ups are complete and perform various side duties as assigned by the Restaurant Supervisor and Manager. Provide exceptional service.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • Prior serving experience preferred.  
  • High school or equivalent education required.
  • Basic knowledge of food presentation, preparation and handling.
  • Have a solid knowledge of various cocktails, spirits, beers, and wine varieties.
  • A minimum of 6-12 months experience as a server in a comparable restaurant is preferred.
  • Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
