Work as a Dogtown Associate providing stellar care to our pups and 5-star customer service. The position requires the ability to multi-task, strong organizational skills, reliability and most important a true love of dogs.   Upon completing your first 90 days at Dogtown we want to give you the tools to launch your career in the animal care industry. You'll be given the opportunity to chose the path most compatible with your goals and the hands-on experience to secure a bright future in this steadfast industry. We will be there each step of the way to ensure your success and our continuing to provide the best care to our customers. 

Pay: $12/hour to start. 

Certification: Pet First Aid Certification upon being hired. At the end of the 90-day probationary period, provided a positive review you can choose from one of the following paths. 

You will be able to choose from the following certifications:

  • Dog Trainer Certification
  • Veterinary Assistant Certification
  • Pet Grooming Certification

You will have 9 months to complete the certification program at your own pace. Upon successful completion you will receive a raise to $13.50/hour.

The certification program will be fully paid by Dogtown. Should you resign or have employment terminated while completing the program or within 12 months of completing, you will be responsible to pay back the cost of the program. 

Hours: Full time. Two schedules available. Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday. Preference will be taken into consideration if AM or PM shifts are more convenient. ~35 hours a week. Our shifts are 7:30 am to 1:30 pm or 1:30 pm to 7:30 pm during weekdays. Saturdays 8:30 am to 1:30 pm, 1:30 pm to 6:30 pm or 9:30 am to 6:30 pm depending on scheduled role. Sundays 8:30 am to 1:30 pm, 1:30 pm to 6:30 pm or 11:30 am to 6:30 pm depending on scheduled role.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION 

  •   We need someone who is available to work  during the hours specified above and over the holidays.
  •   This position is open to U.S. Citizens, Residents or those with work visas who are over 18 years of age.
  •   This position alternates roles weekly, shifting from hands-on work with the pups to client services.

Caretaker Responsibilities:

  •   Walking our furr-guests outside for relief walks (~5-8 minutes) in groups of 2 or 3 in the morning and afternoon (for morning shifts) in the evening (for afternoon shifts).
  •   Following personalized feeding instructions and feeding our furr-guests in the morning (morning shift) and evening (afternoon shift).
  •   Cleaning any poo & pee messes as they occur in the playarea and shop.
  •   Cleaning rooms once furr-guests vacate. Setting up rooms for incoming furr-guests.
  •   Organizing and light cleaning of storage areas, shop, etc.
  •   Keeping detailed notes on our furr-guests feedings and potty breaks.
  •   Supervising and maintaining a safe and controlled playarea for the dogs.

Front Desk Responsibilities:

  •   Supporting and guiding the kennel staff.
  •   Managing groomers schedules.
  •   Answering calls and emails.
  •   Receiving new clients.
  •   Using our software to enter/maintain client information, make new appointments, cancel appointments.
  •   Charging clients for retail, grooming, hotel & daycare services.
  •   Have a clear understanding of our services and be able to explain our philosophy and services clearly to clients.

Education/Experience Requirements:

Minimum 3 years general work experience. Previous customer service/administrative, minimum 1 year. OR

Previous professional/volunteer experience with dogs.
