Greenhouse Plant & Customer Care Technician

Part-time

Overview:
While the title “Greenhouse Plant & Customer Care Technician” (GPCCT) may sound a bit technical, the primary responsibility of the GPCCT is simply to ensure that our greenhouse plants and greenhouse customers are happy and healthy. Extensive plant knowledge is not required but a love of people and plants is a must! We are seeking positive and friendly applicants with a helpful attitude toward customers, including the ability to speak clearly and convey information accurately.  
 

Responsibilities:

  • Stocking & Maintaining Annuals, Perennials, Herbs & Vegetables
  • Watering, deadheading (cleaning plants)
  • Facing tables
  • Retail sales and customer service.
  • Helping customers locate flowers, vegetables, etc.
  • Carrying customer purchases or helping them to the sales office.
  • Maintaining a safe, healthy & welcoming greenhouse facility
  • Winding up hoses
  • Sweeping floors
  • Signage & tagging of annuals and perennials
  • Creating / maintaining greenhouse displays
  • Potting / filling hanging baskets, planters, fresh crops, etc. 

Job Requirements:
Ability to work from a standing position for hours at a time. Job applicants must be capable of bending and twisting and the ability to lift up to 20lbs without assistance (heavier would be a “team lift” or handled by one of our experienced sales yard laborers).

It is important to keep in mind that this position requires the individual to be a “switch hitter”. The nursery business is a seasonal business and as such there may be times when we need the individual to pick-up product or make a delivery. The ideal candidate would be not only capable, but also willing to fill the voids when necessary.

  •  Hourly Pay + Overtime: commensurate with experience ($9.25-$14.00 / Hour)

 Expected Work Schedule:

  •  Mid-April thru June 30th
  • 20-40 hours per week (overtime available but not required)
  • Weekday or weekend work available

Retail Sales & Customer Service Associate

Part-time

Overview: 

While the title “Retail Sales &  Customer Service Associate” (RSCSA) may sound a bit technical, the primary responsibility of the RSCSA is simply to ensure that our customers are having a positive interaction with our company, whether they are interacting with us over the phone, online or in person. Extensive plant knowledge is not required but a love of people and plants is a must! We are seeking positive and friendly applicants with a helpful attitude toward customers, including the ability to speak clearly and convey information accurately. 


Responsibilities: 

• Cashier / Clerk – ringing up customer transactions in an efficient and friendly manner.

• Answering phones and routing customer calls to the appropriate person / department

• Retail store upkeep – stocking / cleaning shelves, etc. 

Job Requirements:

• Friendly person with the ability to work in a fast paced environment

• Proficient at basic computer tasks – typing, internet browsing, etc. 

• Microsoft Office Skills not required but are a plus. 

• Ability to work from a standing position for hours at a time.
